Lower Re-Hospitalization Through Innovation
One reason for Residential Home Health’s impressive clinical results is our commitment to using innovative technologies in our homecare treatments.
Telehealth
For patients living with CHF, COPD, HTN and related cardio-pulmonary chronic illnesses, Residential has invested in a comprehensive care solution. eCareRN bundles in-home, daily, easy-to-use telehealth monitoring of vital signs and health status with a dedicated nursing team that reviews results, then coaches and educates patients, enabling them to live independently at home.
Remote monitoring through telehealth has proven to significantly reduce re-hospitalization rates compared to similar patient populations that are not monitored. For example, in a study done by Tufts - New England Medical Center there was a 72% reduction in heart failure re-hospitalizations for patients who were telemonitored.
In partnership with Philips Healthcare, Residential has the largest installation of telehealth monitors in the state of Michigan. Note that health insurance companies pay no incremental reimbursement to home health agencies for the use of these monitors in caring for their patients. However, over 89% of home health agencies acrossthe U.S. who use telehealth reported improved patient outcomes in a recent study.
SOLARIS Light Therapy
Residential Home Health is also Michigan’s only home healthcare agency to offer SOLARIS X-3 Light Therapy. SOLARIS is FDA approved light therapy for tissue repair, soft-tissue inflammatory relief and pain reduction.
SOLARIS is administered in a patient’s home by our physical and occupational therapists. The device is more effective in a shorter time than traditional ultrasound therapy. It has been proven safe and effective for use on skin wounds, ulcers, ligament tears and tendon damage.
